Currency Converter Trip (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the App, why it is processed, and your choices.
A. Camera Access (android.permission.CAMERA)
- Purpose: To enable camera-based price/text scanning features.
- How it is used: The App uses the camera to capture images for on-device OCR (text recognition) in price scanning features.
- Important: We do not upload your camera images or videos to our own servers by default.
B. Location Access (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION)
- Purpose: To estimate your local/home currency based on your current country/location.
- How it is used: The App checks location permission, obtains the device location, and uses geocoding to infer your country and a representative currency.
- Important: We do not sell your location data.
C. In-App Purchase Data (com.android.vending.BILLING)
- Purpose: To provide paid features such as ad removal and premium functionality, and to restore purchases on other devices or after reinstall.
- How it is used:
- The App queries product details and purchase status from Google Play Billing.
- Purchase information is used to determine whether to remove ads and/or unlock premium features.
- Important:
- Actual payment processing (e.g., credit/debit card data) is handled by Google Play, not by the App.
- We do not collect or store your full payment card numbers.
D. Advertising Data (Google Mobile Ads / AdMob)
- Purpose: To show banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads in the free version of the App.
- How it is used:
- The App uses the Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) SDK to request and display ads.
- Ad requests may include device and usage information required by the SDK.
- Important:
- AdMob/Google may process data under their own policies.
- You can remove ads via an in-app purchase, after which banner and interstitial ads are disabled in the App.
- Permissions/Capabilities:
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, foreground services, boot completed receiver, wake lock, and related Android capabilities.
- Purpose:
- To provide optional lock-screen quick launch or auto-launch features (for example, launching calculators from the lock screen).
- How it is used:
- These capabilities are only active if you enable the related settings inside the App.
- The App may run a foreground service or react to device boot events to honor your chosen settings.
F. Network Access (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE)
- Purpose:
- To fetch exchange rates, process geocoding/location requests, support ads and in-app billing flows, and access any required third-party endpoints.
- How it is used:
- The App makes HTTPS requests to exchange rate APIs and other endpoints to retrieve up-to-date data needed for its features.
G. Local Device Storage
The App stores certain data locally on your device (for example, via SharedPreferences or similar storage), including but not limited to:
- selected currencies and general app preferences (e.g., language, theme),
- calculator/feature settings,
- travel expense records and related configuration,
- premium entitlements such as:
- ad removal status,
- premium/unlock flags (e.g., unlimited price scanner usage, lock screen launch),
- lock-screen feature settings and local state needed for functionality.
This data is stored locally on your device and is not automatically uploaded to our own servers.
H. User-Initiated Sharing
- Purpose: To allow you to manually share text or other content generated by the App (for example, exporting travel expense summaries).
- How it is used:
- Only when you choose a share/export action, the selected content is passed to the apps/services you choose (e.g., email, messenger).
- The App does not automatically share your content without your explicit action.
2. Third-Party Services
The App may use third-party services/SDKs, including but not limited to:
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) – for displaying ads.
- Google Play Billing – for handling in-app purchases and subscription-like entitlements.
- Platform location/geocoding services – to infer your country and currency from your device location.
- Exchange-rate API endpoints – to fetch exchange-rate data needed for currency conversion and related features.
These third parties may process data in accordance with their own privacy policies.
For Google services, see:
Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
Data may be shared only in limited circumstances, such as:
- when necessary to operate third-party SDKs/services (e.g., ads, billing, location/geocoding, exchange-rate APIs),
- when you explicitly trigger a share/export feature and choose a destination app/service,
- when required to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes.
4. Data Retention
- Local app data remains on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the App (subject to your device/OS behavior).
- In-app purchase transaction information is primarily managed and retained by Google Play in line with Google’s policies.
- We retain information only as long as necessary to provide the App’s functionality and to comply with legal obligations.
